Artist Statement
A Sunday Afternoon in September, Walking Through Gamcheon
If you peek into different corners of the world, you can find a uniting commonality in the way we live. We create guidelines to live within including infrastructure, religion, politics and relationships. These guidelines are borders that are meant to contain our complex and unpredictable human experience. The strong, organic force of life often hinders our expectations that come from these societal structures from becoming a reality. There is a clear tension between order and chaos, which makes for a harmonizing collaboration that is at the center of each community. It is comforting to know that across different communities, universal and uniting qualities exist.
